Chi The Spa at Shangri-La Bangkok is the hotel group's first signature spa brand. It has the largest and most luxurious private spa suites in Bangkok, offering guests the height of personal space and timelessness.

With an appreciation for the virtues and traditions of Thai hospitality, CHI the Spa's experience is based on ancient healing traditions and philosophies of China and the Himalayas. CHI the Spa's extensive menu offers over 35 specialised body, water, massage and facial therapies. Top on the list of essentially Oriental signature treatments are the Chi Balance, the Himalayan Stone Massage and the Mountain Tsampa Rub.

CHI The Spa's treatments and exclusive product range have been designed on the Chinese philosophy of the five elements, in which metal, water, wood, fire and earth are in balance with the positive yang and negative yin energy in the body. Each guest will be identified with his or her predominant element after a consultation, upon which one of the five element oils will be recommended for use during the treatment.

CHI the Spa has nine private spa suites featuring a "spa within a spa" concept complete with an infinity bath featuring colour therapy, herbal steam and shower facilities, relaxation lounge, toilet and vanity areas. The Garden suite, the largest in Bangkok measuring over 107 square meters, and all spa suits have expansive views over the Chao Phraya River with private access to the exclusive swimming pool of the hotel's luxury Krunthep Wing.

The interiors are a modern interpretation of a Tibetan temple, accented with Himalayan art and accessories. The atmospheric elements - from moving shafts of light to the smell of scented incense and the sound of Tibetan singing bowls - all lend themselves to the mystical aura of the Shangri_la legend.

Signature Treatment Yin Yang Couple's Signature Massage

The CHI signature massage benefits couples by harmonising and pleasantly balancing the flow of relationship chi with the aid of two therapists. This is achieved by balancing the yin and yang energies within each client. By focusing
on the yin and yang meridians in the body, tension is released with peace and harmony restored. The Himalayan herbal massage oils are blended specifically to awaken male and female vitality.
